PHEK, NOV 15: The Office of the Central Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Chakhesang Region under the NSCN/GPRN has issued a public notice warning residents of Phek district against engaging in illegal activities, including the sale of liquor, drug peddling, extortion and illegal taxation.

Per the notice, the CAO stated that such activities have been reported within the district, prompting the administration to take a firm stand. The NSCN/GPRN cautioned that anyone found violating the prohibitions will face “severe action.”
The NSCN directive lists three major offences:
Illegal sale of liquor: No person or establishment is permitted to sell or distribute intoxicating liquor. All violators will be served with severe action.
Drug peddling: The trafficking, sale and possession of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances are strictly prohibited by the NSCN, GPRN. Violators will be served with severe
action.

Extortion and illegal taxation: Any individual or group involved in extorting money, imposing taxes on businessmen or individual using and defaming the NSCN, GPRN will be prosecuted to the fullest extend as deem fit by the NSCN, GPRN.
