NSCN-IM Minister, Neiba Kire succumbs to COVID-19

An NSCN-IM leader succumbed to COVID-19 on Sunday in Kohima. According to NSCN-IM, Mr. Neiba Kire, kilonser (minister) passed away due to COVID-19 related complications at Oking Hospital in Kohima “leaving behind his wife and children”. He hailed from Kohima.

Meanwhile, NSCN-IM general secretary Th.Muivah condoled the demise of Neiba Kire. “I’m deeply saddened and pained at the demise of Mr. Neiba Kire, kilonser, Angami Region, GPRN,” said Th. Muivah.

According to Muivah, Neiba Kire joined the “Naga national service” with full conviction and commitment. He served the “nation in different capacities and responsibilities with utmost dedication, best of his knowledge and commitment to the fullest satisfaction of all concerned, which leaves behind a wonderful legacy to be remembered forever”, said the condolence message of Th. Muivah..

“I, on behalf of the Naga nation, extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved family members of late Mr. Neiba Kire. The Naga nation offers prayer to the Almighty God to grant eternal rest to the departed soul of Mr. Neiba Kire,” he added.

Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM said that the “Naga nation mourns the unfortunate demise of Hon’ble Kilonser Mr. Neiba Kire” on Sunday in Kohima. It added that the  “Nagalim national flag” would be flown half mast for two consecutive days on May 17 and May 18 as a mark of our respect to the departed soul.
