NSCN-IM to Commemorate Naga Plebiscite Day of 1951 on May 16, Reinforces Political Significance

Dimapur: In a recent announcement, the NSCN-IM has confirmed the commemoration of the Naga Plebiscite Day of 1951 on May 16, to reinforcing its political significance.

The group underlined the importance of historical events such as the Amsterdam Joint Communiqué of July 11, 2002, and the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015, in recognizing the unique history and situation of the Naga people.

Emphasizing the principle of sovereignty, the NSCN-IM highlighted the significance of the Framework Agreement signed in 2015, which acknowledges the sovereign Nagalim national flag and constitution.

Following a Joint Council Meeting held on April 30, 2024, at the Council Headquarters in Hebron, the NSCN-IM has invited its members and GPRN functionaries to participate in the commemorative event at the General Headquarters Church, Naga Army, marking a historic occasion.
