The directives, outlined in a letter dated November 8, 2024, refer to a resolution passed during the Joint Meeting of the National and Political Affairs Committee on November 5, 2024. The letter instructed the Wung Tangkhul Region, Khurmi Region, Kuki Tribal Union, and the Naga Army to ensure household and population census in villages under the Eastern Kuki Chief Association (EKCA) jurisdiction.
The document directed the groups to obtain a written commitment from every Kuki village refraining from cooperating with anti-Naga groups, especially the Kuki National Army (B) faction (KNA-B), and to ensure Kuki Chiefs desist from entering into any agreement with the group.
