CHANDEL: The Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK) on Tuesday celebrated its 75 years of existence and achievements through a Platinum Jubilee at the Lamkang Secretariat Complex in Chandel. The jubilee was celebrated under the theme “Recollect, Reconnect, Reorient”.
The jubilee recalled the years of its formation, struggles and achievements by its various former executive members led by their presidents since 1950. The jubilee celebration also praised and thanked God for the love and blessings over the years.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Dr. Ss. Olish, MLA 41-Chandel (ST) AC congratulated the Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK) for their achievements and the celebration. She called on them to take the student body to new heights.
She recalled how the founders worked tirelessly and with dedication. “If we are able to celebrate 75 years of LKK today, it’s because of them,” she said.
The MLA also unveiled the Jubilee monolith.
Sarangthem Asana, IPS, CO, 2nd Bn, MR, Imphal as guest of honour and Chongtham Bishwachandra Singh, Chief Engineer, PWD, Manipur as functional president congratulated LKK and wished them the best for the future.
Earlier, Chongtham Bishwachandra Singh, Chief Engineer, PWD, Manipur released the jubilee balloons while Sarangthem Asana, IPS, CO, 2nd Bn, MR, Imphal released the jubilee souvenir.
Giving the presidential speech, Johny Dilbung, President, LKK, expressed his gratitude and welcomed everyone to the jubilee celebration. He also recalled how past executive members of LKK worked hard to make it what it is today.

Giving the solidarity speech, Naga Students’ Federation president Mteisuding Heraang said the Nagas should be united inorder to achieve their goals. Lamenting that that Nagas are divided by factions and borders which was hampering in their fight to achieve their goal, the special guest said it was time for the Nagas to come together and be unity. “This is vital for achieving the aspirations of the Nagas”, he added.
With regards to the theme of the celebration, “Recollect, Reconnect, Reorient”, the NSF president said the Lamkang Students’ Union has chosen the right theme and stressed that “it is time for the Naga people to recollect, reconnect and Reorient”.
The jubilee was blessed by Rev. Fr. Dr. Avince Anthony Dilbung, Parish Priest, St. Peter’s Parish, Chandel while Robinsing Tholung, son of (L) Th. Bedok, founding president of LKKD hoisted the jubilee flag.
The event also show various performances such as cultural dance by Khorpi Dance Troupe, folk song by Leingangching village and special songs by Damhring Tholung and Darshel Khular.
The day ended with a vote of thanks by Bungkham Sankhil, general secretary, LKK and de-hoisting of the flag by Sunny Sankhil, former president, LKK.

The event was also attended by Mteisuding Heraang, president of NSF; Ruwnglar Elly Anal, President NSUC and Huten Joyful, education secretary, ANSAM on behalf on the the President. Moreover, various CSO and student leaders from the district long with youth club presidents and chiefs of Lamkang villages attended the event.
