Ukhrul: The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Ukhrul, in collaboration with the NSS Units of St. Joseph College and Pettigrew College, Ukhrul, along with My Bharat volunteers and other stakeholders, celebrated a three-day program called “Diwali with My Bharat” from October 27 to October 30, 2024.

District Youth Officer Worchipem AC of NYK Ukhrul highlighted the key initiative of celebrating the first anniversary of the My Bharat portal, a digital platform launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports aimed at empowering Indian youth through education, social mobility, and practical skills.

As part of this initiative, NYK Ukhrul and the NSS Units of St. Joseph College and Pettigrew College mobilized My Bharat volunteers and engaged them in various activities, including cleaning the market area from Ava Market to Mini Secretariat Market in Ukhrul Town.

Other activities included volunteering at the District Hospital in Ukhrul, where volunteers assisted in enhancing access to health services for patients, and traffic volunteering under the guidance of the Ukhrul Traffic Department. ASI Yarnao Yangya briefed the volunteers on traffic rules and regulations.

This program has strengthened the bond between local communities and volunteers, underscoring the positive impact of community-driven actions.
