Chandel, May 31: Chandel: A One-Day Awareness cum Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized at District Hospital, Chandel by the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors Manipur (Chandel & Thoubal branches) in collaboration with 21 Assam Rifles, Wisecrabs, Daampi Church LNBA, District Police, and Medical Department, Chandel. The event was further supported by the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Imphal, and the Manipur AIDS Society/State Blood Transfusion Council, Manipur.

The camp saw the participation of 120 individuals, including donors from Assam Rifles and Police personnel, as well as youth from Challong, Daampi, Mantri Pantha, Komsem, Kanankhu, and nearby villages.

The formal program was moderated by Ts Newry, Executive of Wisecrabs. The Chief Guest was Dr. Joyson Matthew Monsang, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Chandel. Other dignitaries included Ts Chamna Anal MPS (Additional Superintendent of Police, Chandel) as Functional President, Captain Jeffrey Carvalho (Company Commander, 21 Assam Rifles), Dr. Serbum Shakchung Moyon (Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Chandel), Nabakumar Tc (Secretary, AVBD-Manipur Thoubal), and M Priyokumar Singh, who were present as Guests of Honour.

In his keynote address, Ts Mhanthung, President of Wisecrabs, welcomed and congratulated the guests and donors for their valuable contributions. Meanwhile, Dilbung Shenong, Secretary of AVBD-Manipur Chandel branch, expressed gratitude and assured the community that similar camps would be organized regularly to encourage voluntary blood donation.

Notable donors included Inspector Suraj (Officer-in-Charge, Chandel Police Station), Mrs. Bhakti Mane, Mr. Parveen Barak (Advocate, Delhi High Court), Mrs. D. Alina, a 12-time blood donor, and Mr. Isaac Shilshi, General Secretary of the Chandel Naga Chief’s Association.
