One death, 15 new COVID-19 cases detected in Manipur

COVID-19 related illness claimed one more life in Manipur, taking the casualty tally to 371 even as 15 fresh cases of the disease reported in the last 24 hours pushed the total caseload to 29,037 on Friday.

According to the daily update report of the state Health Department, a 74-year-old male from Churachandpur district died at JNIMS hospital.

In the past 24 hours, 15 new positive cases were detected, among whom six were females.

Of the new cases, four each were from Imphal West and Imphal East, two from Bishnupur, and one each from Thoubal, Kakching, Tengnoupal, Chandel and Tamenglong.

During the same period, 25 patients were discharged after they were recovered from the infection, taking the total number of recovered cases to 28,524.

The state has only 142 active cases and the state’s recovery rate reached 98.23 per cent, it added.
