One dies of Covid-19 in Ukhrul; DM extends curfew till 11 June

Covid-19 claimed one more life on Saturday taking the total death toll to 13 in Ukhrul district. The deceased has been identified as Redeemson Ramror, 54, of Seikhor village.

Meanwhile the district magistrate Ukhrul on Saturday had extended curfew in the whole area within the revenue district of Ukhrul district till June 11, as per order issued by the Home department, government of Manipur on Friday.

Redeemson S/o Late Theikhui Ramror was admitted at Covid-19 isolation Ward on May 27 at 10 AM. As his condition deteriorated, CPR was initiated according to the latest ACLS protocols but he went into coma and there was no return of spontaneous circulation. He was declared dead at 12:12 PM on Saturday. Acute respiratory distress syndrome has been the immediate cause of his death. He had SARS-2 Covid-19 antecedent, according to Medical superintendent Ukhrul, Dr. Reisangmi Raikhan.

Additional district magistrate, Ukhrul, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him, has declared the residence of Mathomi Shangh H/o Masowon Shangh of Shirui Village as containment zone with immediate effect.

As per the order issued by Rehanuddin Choudhury, Joint Secretary (Home), government of Manipur on Friday ordered, 16 locations in 16 district of Manipur including Type II Quarter inside R/L of Ukhrul for Ukhrul district and Chasad PS lock-up for Kamjong district have been declared as temporary lock-up for detention/ accommodation of Covid-19 positive accused persons with immediate effect until further orders.

The Home department order further stated that the chief medical officer (CMO) of the concerned district will provide medical assistance as per protocol.
