One found shot dead in Churachandpur

An individual was found dead with bullet wound inside a house of one Thangzamuan at Trinity Road, Kanaan Veng, New Lamka on Tuesday evening in Churachandpur. The owner of the house was said to have gone out for work when the incident occurred.

The deceased is identified as one Jimmy Thangsonlal, S/o JK Suan of Bungmual.

As per the report of Tullou Tv News, local cable news service, two individuals dropped in at the residence of Thangzamuan in the afternoon. The duo asked a boy (around 7yrs) to open the door as it was found locked from outside.

Moments after the door got opened the locals heard sound of gunshot. It is reported that nearby locals saw an unknown man escaping the spot through the backyard of the house.

Thangzamuan left his wife Chingsuankim and children at the house while he went to work. Chingsuankim also went out to the market and handed over the door key to his 7 year old son. She also told him not to go out far from the house.

Chingsuankim returned home from the market around 2 pm and discovered the dead body from inside a room of the house while preparing tea for his son.

A team of Churachandpur police led by Addl. SP (L&O) Lawrence Munluo and OC Ccpur PS rushed to the crime spot and sealed the area. The dead body was retrieved for postmortem after forensic team inspected the crime scene.

Meanwhile, Young Paite Association (YPA) Bungmual Unit has condemned the incident and urged the concerned authority to nab the perpetrator(s) at the earliest.
