One injured in accidental firing by personnel of 2 Mahar Regiment

Ukhrul, October 30: An accidental firing incident involving personnel of the 2 Mahar Regiment injured one person, identified as Oinam Imbomcha Meitei (42) near Kumbi Thongkhong, Bishnupur district around 1 pm according to police.

The incident unfolded while Oinam Meitei was sitting inside his roadside shop when the personnel accidently discharged his weapon, causing an injury to the victim’s right thigh.

The injured was reportedly administered first aid by the 2 Mahar Regiment before shifting to District Hospital, Bishnupur, for further treatment.

Kumbi Police Station has registered a case initiating investigation into the matter.
