UKHRUL: In the heart of Tamenglong, Manipur, the “Orange Queen 2025” pageant has drawn to a triumphant close, redefining beauty competitions in the region with its seamless fusion of cultural heritage, high production standards, and women’s empowerment.

Organized as a highlight of the 18th State Level Orange Festival, this groundbreaking event—directed by visionary pageant organizer and former Miss Manipur 2016 Phapha Gachui through her initiative Beyond Roots—elevated pageantry beyond glamour to a platform celebrating tribal pride, intellect, and community values.

Laikhuram Zeneva, representing the Meitei community and already a titleholder as Miss North East Manipur 2025, was crowned Orange Queen 2025 in a glittering ceremony at the Mini Stadium. She captivated judges and audiences alike, taking home the coveted crown along with a cash prize of Rs 2,00,000, a citation, and gift hampers.

Under Phapha Gachui’s leadership as Founder and Director, Beyond Roots transformed the pageant into a narrative of empowerment, positioning contestants as cultural ambassadors and catalysts for social change. Supported by Co-Director Payuri Gachui (Founder of Pyu Beauty), Media Incharge Puina Phijam (Proprietor of Odd4rMedia), and Coordinator Leishipem Hungyo, the event showcased impeccable execution, vibrant indigenous performances, and a progressive vision for Manipur.

The pageant’s success was amplified by its integration into the broader Orange Festival, which spotlighted the district’s renowned GI-tagged oranges while promoting tourism and farmer livelihoods. Attendees and dignitaries praised its flawless organization and role in projecting a vibrant, united image of the Northeast’s diverse cultures.

With “Orange Queen 2025,” Phapha Gachui and Beyond Roots have not only crowned exceptional winners but set an unprecedented benchmark, paving the way for a new chapter in culturally rooted pageantry across the region.
