Meghalaya recorded the recoveries of 101 COVID-19 patients, taking the total recoveries in the state to 8,680 on Tuesday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said that 40 persons who recovered are from West Khasi Hills district, 23 West Jaintia Hills district, 11 East Garo Hills district, 11 Ri Bhoi district, 7 East Khasi Hills district, 5 West Garo Hills district, 3 East Jaintia Hills district and 1 North Garo Hills district.
Of the 63 new COVID-19 cases detected in the past 24 hours in the state, Dr War said 19 are in East Khasi Hills, 11 Ri Bhoi, 8 East Jaintia Hills, 8 West Jaintia Hills, 6 West Garo Hills, 4 West Khasi Hills, 3 East Garo Hills, 2 South Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
The state has detected a total of 9,678 COVID-19 out of which 971 are active cases, 8,680 recovered and 90 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has a total of 339 positive cases that include 24 Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces and 315 civilians, Ri Bhoi 258, West Garo Hills 160, West Jaintia Hills 86, East Garo HIlls 51, East Jaintia Hills 26, North Garo Hills 16, West Khasi Hills 15, South Garo Hills 11, South West Garo Hills 7 and South West Khasi Hills 3.
“Till date, swab samples of 2,04,462 persons have been tested of which 1,94,721 were found negative,” the senior medical official said.
There are 54,532 entrants from outside the state.
