Police recover body from Khurai river bank with a bullet wound

Imphal: Police in Imphal East district on Tuesday recovered a dead body with a bullet mark from a river bank at Khurai Heikrumakhong under Heingang police station.

A police source said that the yet to be identified body has a bullet injury mark on the head. The dead body has been deposited at JNIMS morgue in Imphal for official procedure.

The police recovered the dead body after spot examination by a team of forensic experts of the state police department. An empty case was recovered from the spot.

The police suspected the man was shot dead by miscreants late last night. After registering a case, the police initiated an investigation, the police source added.
