Police take custody of four alleged NSCN-IM cadres

Imphal: A local court in Manipur on Friday remanded four suspected NSCN-IM cadres, who were arrested by the security force in Imphal on Thursday, to police custody for eight days.

The four alleged cadres of the NSCN-IM were arrested by a combined team of  police commandos and troops of 16 Assam Rifles from ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminus) complex in Imphal’s Khuman Lampak on Thursday, around 10.30 am.

They were intercepted during a counter insurgency operation launched by the combined team based on a tip-off regarding the presence of some cadres in the area.

Imphal police station where a case against them was registered after being handed over by the combined team of security force produced them to the court of the Imphal West chief judicial magistrate today.

The court remanded them to police custody for eight days on the prayer of the investigating officer of the case.
