Poppy Destruction Reaches Northern Part of Ukhrul

Ukhrul: The poppy destruction carried out by a combined team of Ukhrul Police, Ukhrul Forest Department and 6th Manipur Rifles reached the northern part of Ukhrul district.

The combined team led by the SP of Ukhrul, Ningshem Vashum carried out the destruction of poppy cultivation at Nungbi Khullen Hill Range on Friday.

Around 30 acres area of illicit poppy cultivation was destroyed by the combine team and around 35 huts were burned to ashes. 

The combined team have been carrying out the destruction of poppy in different parts of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts since 8 November 2023 and has destroyed around 120 hectares to date.
