Popular Kenbo Bikes Now Banned in Manipur

The affordable China-made Kenbo bikes which has high demand has been banned in Manipur state.

However popular the bikes in Manipur, Kenbo is said to be illegally sold in the black market.

According to news source, a directive to seize Kenbo bikes in Manipur driven without registration numbers was given to DGP Manipur by the home department on September 3, Manipur Police and Assam Rifles.

The order, according to news source said, owners of the illegal bikes would face penalty or legal action if found riding the foreign bike in towns as well as villages.

Mizoram government had recently in 2020 banned the use of Kenbo bikes claiming it was used for cross border smuggling.
