Pu Ziona, father of world’s largest family dies at 76

Dubbed the world’s largest family in Mizoram, 76-year-old, Pu Zionnghaka, also known as Pu Ziona, head of the world’s largest family died of diabetes and high blood pressure Sunday afternoon at Trinity hospital in Aizawl according to sources.

Ziona Chana was the chief of the Christian sect known as Chana Pawl who lived in a large building where his entire family of 39 wives is housed called Chhuan Thar Run or the House of the New Generation in Mizoram’s Baktawng Thlangnuam village about 70 kilometers from Aizwal, the capital.

He is said to have survived by 39 wives and 94 children.
