Rapid Action Force personnel caught vandalizing private vehicles in Imphal

Imphal: After the infamous incident of three Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel trying to burn down a meat shop at New Checkon on May 26 night, which was caught on CCTV, RAF personnel were yet again allegedly caught on CCTV vandalising private vehicles and windows of residential houses at Singjamei Yumnam leikai and Moirangkhom in the wee hours.

The RAF personnel allegedly vandalised around 10 vehicles and windows of two residential houses. The damaged private vehicles which were parked in the area includes Mahindra Scorpio, Gypsy, Tata Magic, Hyundai i-10 and Suzuki alto car.

The RAF personnel were reportedly heading from Singjamei towards Moirangkhom at around 2:20 am on Tuesday to take stock of the situation in the area, after a mob of protesters, had earlier gathered in the area to block movement of convoys of Security forces upon suspicion that the Security Forces were transporting some armed miscreants.

Personnel of the Rapid Action Force and Manipur Police fired several rounds of tear gas shells to disperse the mob gathered along the National Highway-2 Imphal-Moreh road stretch from Moirangkhom till Canchipur.
