On commemoration of seven years completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government a three day extensive tour of Seva hi Shanghai Part -2 ‘Reaching the Unreached’ which started from June 19-21 ended, a press note from the former deputy speaker and Ex-MLA 45 – Chingai A/c, Nagaram Imphal informed.

Party workers being the true grassroots level ambassadors who exactly know the grievances of the masses, Mk Preshow Shimray led the tour along with Chingai Mandal BJP President Shri Bejoy Shatsang, Youth Team and Party karyakartas.

The release informed that the team started from the Western villages under Chingai A/c – Ringui – Sirarakhong, Teinem, Phalee, Somdal and Talui on day 1. The former deputy speaker and family donated two oxygen concentrators of 10L and 7L each and 2 -D Type oxygen Cylinder each to Somdal PHC and Talui PHC along with medical kits such as face masks packages, hand sanitizers, PEs, oximeters, medicines, vitamins related to Covid-9 treatment and a financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 to Somdal and Talui Covid-19 management committee and Rs. 5,000 to all other villages.

Considering the hardships faced by the western Tangkhul villages and a long pending dream of the area of upgrading the Primary Health centre of Somdal and Talui village to CHC as the centre of all western villages, MK Preshow during his tenure as MLA initiated the upgradation of these two PHC to CHC (Community health Centre) so that these centres can cater to all the medical care and emergency cases of deliveries and treatment which will save lakhs of money for the populace in the area, rather than going to Imphal or other places incurring huge expenditures, it said.

The former MLA while sitting with the village councils of Somdal and Talui mentioned that it is a great loss and tragedy that the present MLA has laid the foundation in July 2018 with much fanfare and celebrations in the presence of all neighboring village chiefs for fulfilling the cherished dream of the western area in the presence of the then Health Minister L Jayenta Kumar Singh. Yet not a single upgradation on infrastructure and medical equipments, doctors and staffs and facilities which a CHC must have was seen on his visit. Two Health Ministers have come and gone yet nothing has taken place. The upgradation is only on paper he commented and assured the villagers that Chief Minister will be apprised of this matter at the earliest, it added.

Raphei area from Nungbi khullen to Chingai PHC to Marem Village, then to Razai – Kharasom and finally to Jessami Village, the northern most village under Chingai A/c which borders Nagaland state was covered on day 2.

MK preshow Shimray and family donated one oxygen concentrator each to Chingai PHC and Jessami PHC along with 3-D type cylinders to both the PHC, Rs 10,000 each to Chingai and Jessami along with 10 bags of rice and 15 bags respectively. He also donated to all the above villages medical kits such as face masks, hand sanitizers, PPEs, oximeters, vitamins and medicines related to treatment of Covid-19 as well as financial assistance of Rs 5,000.

The former deputy speaker spreading the message of the various initiatives and efforts of the Manipur state government under the dynamic and committed leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh spoke on the leadership in the time of the dreaded pandemic and assured that Manipur government is doing its best reaching out to central ministry and PM Narendra Modi for maximum help and support to Manipur and thank N Biren Singh for his love for the hill people giving equal resources and support setting up oxygen plant, providing as much resources unlike any other Chief Ministers in Manipur history in a time such as this.

Spreading the message of hope and light in darkness from the Scripture, MK Preshow appealed to the people, “We need to be united, and let us not play any blame game in the matter of saving lives during the pandemic. We are all in this together and we shall overcome. We need to be responsible at our own individual, family, community and village level,” and further appealed to all the villages under 45-Chingai A/c eligible 18 years and above to get vaccinated at the earliest.
