The decision was taken during the Governor-in-Council meeting held on August 14, 2025.

According to an official order issued by the Power Department, the following key decisions were made:

1. Cancellation of the 2019 recruitment process.

2. Fresh recruitment to be conducted through the Staff Selection Commission.

3. Candidates who had applied and appeared in the earlier process will be allowed to appear in the new examination free of cost. They will also receive a one-time age relaxation considering the delay and time lapse.

4. The Power Department will prepare and forward a fresh requisition of posts to the Commission as per the current requirement.

The order was signed by Deputy Secretary (Power) Maisnam Chinglembi Luwang.
