Red Shield Division Flags Off National Integration Tour 2025

CHURACHANDPUR, NOVEMBER 29: Red Shield Division under the aegis of Spear Corps today flagged off the National Integration Tour (NIT) 2025 for 20 students and three teachers from Churachandpur district. The tour will span from 30 November to 12 December.

The NIT was flagged off by Brig. SS Maghadik, VSM, Commander of 59 Mountain Brigade, at Leisang Public Ground, Churachandpur, where he also graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Prior to the flag-off, Brig. Maghadik addressed the students, describing the tour as the beginning of an exciting journey of national integration. He emphasised that learning extends beyond textbooks, highlighting that exposure to historic sites and interactions with leaders will give students invaluable insights into India’s diversity.

He expressed confidence that the tour would remain etched in the students’ memories as a formative experience, offering many first-time exposures. Parents of the participating students were also present during today’s ceremony.

Aimed at fostering unity, broadening exposure and strengthening national harmony, the tour will take the participants from Churachandpur to Aizawl, and onward to Delhi, Lansdowne and Dehradun before returning to Churachandpur.

In Delhi, the students will visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, the National War Memorial, Qutub Minar, Nehru Planetarium, Connaught Place, Delhi Haat and Ambedkar University. They will also interact with the Chief of Army Staff, gaining valuable insights into India’s heritage, democratic institutions and governance, an opportunity expected to deepen their understanding of the nation’s socio-cultural fabric.

At Lansdowne, the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre will host the students, giving them exposure to regimental traditions, interactions with soldiers and outdoor learning activities aimed at nurturing confidence, discipline and camaraderie.

In Dehradun, the group will visit leading institutions, including the Indian Military Academy (IMA), where they will learn about military ethos, leadership values and career pathways in the armed forces.

The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued commitment to empowering the youth of the Northeast and shaping them into informed, responsible citizens. Parents and local authorities have lauded the Red Shield Division’s sustained efforts toward youth development.

The tour is expected to leave a lasting impact on the participants, enriching their aspirations and strengthening their sense of national pride and unity.
