Imphal: Unidentified armed miscreants attacked the residences of two eminent persons, including a legislator in violence-hit Manipur on Monday night. CCTV Footage shows unknown armed miscreants who came in a car open fired at the residential gate of Mayang Imphal A/C MLA Kongkham Robindro around 9:30 PM. The miscreants shot around five rounds of bullets at the MLA’s residental gate. At the time of the incident, the MLA was reportedly at his official quarters in Imphal. Mayang Imphal police station has registered a case.

An hour later at 10:30 PM, unknown armed miscreants attacked the residence of the director of Jawaharlal Institute of Medical Sciences, professor Laishram Deben, located at Kakwa Asem Leikai in Imphal. The miscreants reportedly shot around 10 rounds of bullets. No injuries have been reported in these incidents.

Condemning the attack at the JNIMS director’s residence, locals of Kakwa Asem Leikai staged a sit-in today. Members of Taragi Cheishu, JNIMS Students Association and JN Hospital Auto Driver Association also carried out protest demonstrations at JNIMS Complex in Porompat, Imphal condemning the gun attack at the residence of JNIMS director.
