Dimapur, Jan 16: Amid demands from various quarters for the resolution of the Naga political issue at the earliest time possible, poll tempo related to the assembly election of Nagaland has also heightened.

With leaders of political parties from outside the state of Nagaland are also making a beeline to Nagaland, activities related to the assembly election are also becoming more and more visible with every passing day.

On Monday, reports were doing the rounds on the seat sharing formula between the ruling partners in Nagaland-NDPP and BJP.

After the recent meeting between Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati, reports about the finalization on the seat sharing formula of NDPP and BJP for the upcoming Nagaland assembly election are doing the rounds. According to the reports, things will be finalized by January 20 when NDPP and BJP leaders meet in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, Naga People’s Front (NPF) has advocated for a clean election in the upcoming Nagaland assembly election. “Unless we submit ourselves and practice, it can never be materialized,” said NPF Legislature Party leader, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu.

Azo then said, “We know the need for clean elections and their importance but we fail to listen to our conscience and fall to the temptation of our short term desires and wants”.

The NPF leader also said, “If we expect a good government and good leadership, we must surrender ourselves against money and power and submit to God then only can we produce true leaders for the Naga people”.

Azo also said that many people do not realize how powerful each voter has to change the society to a better and prosperous one. “But once we sell our vote, we do not have that power to change our society”, he also stated, while adding, “And we regret selling our vote for electing the wrong leaders only thereafter”.
