Returnees asked to report at COVID screening centre

The district magistrate, Ukhrul has asked all persons returning from outside the state to report at the district’s Covid-19 screening centre on arrival in the district.

“It is reminded that all the returnees must report at District Covid-19 Screening Centre at the under-construction building of Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul (Opposite Mini-Secretariat) on arrival,” the district magistrate said in an order issued on Wednesday.

The order further informed that all persons who are staying outside Manipur, and are returning to Ukhrul district, are to contact/WhatsApp the contact number 7022566485 for availing e-pass.

It also informed that one N. Rakesh Singh, LDC, of the office has been assigned the duty of issuing e-pass to the returnees of the district in addition to his normal official duties with immediate effect and until further orders. 

Meanwhile, in a separate order, the district magistrate declared a private residential house at Kamphasom Tang in the town a containment zone.

“It has been reported that one person has been tested Covid-19 positive, and in view of the impending threat of the pandemic in the area, it has become expedient to order containment measures to prevent spread of the virus,” it said.

The containment measures were ordered in the geographical areas in exercise of the powers conferred under Para 12 of “The Manipur Epidemic Diseases, Covid-19 Regulations, 2020, it added.
