In regards to bad Mobile Network Connectivity in Tamenglong, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM) convened a meeting with cellular phone network providers operating in Tamenglong Wednesday. The meeting was attended by representatives from Airtel, Jio and BSNL and leaders of RNCM and RNYO Tamenglong Luangrian.

During the Meeting RNCM President, Ramkung Pamei, highlighted the hardship faced by the subscribers. He said, network providers are looting public’s money by not providing proper network facility despite full amount charge during each mobile recharge. As full amount of money were given during the recharge, service providers never mind for smooth functioning of the network, he lamented.

Internet plays a vital role in every field of work. Proffessionals and office goers do their works from home online. Students need internet to attend online classes, those who wants to get vaccinated have to register online and many basic needs are done over online. But due to bad network connectivity, people in the area lagged behind.

Even as laying of OFC must be expedited, Network Operators were asked to to provide better connections, upgrade the microwave link as the number of subscribers have increased manifolds. They are also urged to provide sufficient number of manpower as engineers or technicians could not reach the place on time in the event of technical failures.

The social organizations have urged the Chief minister of Manipur and the service providers to look into the serious matter and improve the service especially in view of the hard time of pandemic.
