Rock Lungleng appointed NPP General Secretary (Youth Wing) Manipur

Rock Lungleng has been appointed as the general secretary of National People’s Party, Youth Wing, Manipur. His appointment comes as part of the NPP youth front appointments among other 9 executives in the youth wing.

Rock is a well qualified student activist with an LLM in education from Symbiosis Pune, and hails from Ukhrul’s Khamasom village.

His appointment order was issued by N Kayisii, President, National People’s Party, Manipur on August 26.

When asked by this reporter his first plan of action in his new role in the regional political party, keeping in mind the nearing state election in early 2022, Rock Lungleng said, “It’s an imperative call that our youths must get involved in politics and take moral responsibility in shaping our society in the way we envision it to be so.”

He further told, “In today’s world, a small community like ours need a pro-youth-led movement where our dreams and aspirations can be shared. Hence, NPP as a political party under the able leadership of Conrad Sangma, provides the right platform, opportunities and vision. I have full faith in his leadership in bringing an inclusive change in the North East region, where predominantly ethnic minority groups are fighting for their inherent rights guaranteed under the Constitution of India.”

Rock Lungleng while in Pune, spanning over a decade from 2006 till 2019, served extensively for students community as President of the Naga Students Union. He is former President of the Northeast Community Organization, Pune, one among the pioneers setting up the community organisation.
