IMPHAL, NOV 16: A joint operation by Manipur Police, CRPF and Assam Rifles on Sunday led to the arrest of a self-styled “Major” of the proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) from a rented house in Sagolband Nepra Menjor Leikai, Imphal West.

The arrested cadre has been identified as Koijam Ibochouba, 45, known by several aliases including Inao, Sumo, Somo and Pansareng. Originally from Yairipok Malom Mamang Leikai, he had been staying at Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai. Police said he has been on the wanted list for his alleged role in the 2017 Sajik Tampak ambush that killed personnel of 4 Assam Rifles.
