IMPHAL, NOV 20: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Imphal around 10:15 am on Wednesday, marking his first visit to Manipur since ethnic clashes broke out in May 2023.
RSS state media cell officials said the three-day tour is part of the organisation’s centenary activities and not connected to the state’s political or ethnic tensions. “This visit is focused on the Sangh’s work on character-building and national unity. It has no political angle,” a spokesperson clarified.

The RSS will also push its ‘Panch Paribartan’ (Five Transformations) campaign during the visit, with pracharaks set to distribute literature on the Sangh’s ideology to households across communities. “RSS is often mistaken as a religion-based body. Our aim is to strengthen the idea of India as one nation,” an official said.
