Bhagwat’s speech in Nagpur saw a gathering of key RSS members and supporters, who echoed Bhagwat’s sentiments on the importance of prioritizing peace and addressing the ongoing issues in Manipur. He also touched on India’s achievements in various sectors. “We have made strides in many fields like the economy, defense strategy, sports, culture, technology, etc.,” he said. However, he cautioned that these advancements do not signify the end of all challenges. “That does not mean that we have overcome all the challenges,” he added.

The RSS chief’s call for peace in Manipur comes at a time when Manipur state has been grappling with fresh unrest recently post Lok Sabha election results on June 4.

In a major escalation of violence on Monday, suspected Kuki militants ambushed the security convoy of Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh along National Highway 37 at T. Laijang near Kotlen village in Kangpokpi district, injuring one escort driver. The ambush occurred around 10:50 AM as the convoy was en route to Jiribam ahead of the Chief Minister’s scheduled visit to the violence-hit district on Tuesday.
