Senapati, Sept. 27: In the wake of the incident that occurred at Saparmeina on September 26, which prompted the Senapati District Truck Owners’ Association (SDTOA) and the Senapati District Truck Drivers’ Union (SDTDU) to call a bandh, a meeting was convened at the Conference Hall of the Superintendent of Police’s office, Senapati, on Saturday.

The meeting, chaired by senior police officials, was attended by representatives of both associations to address the grievances raised by truckers. After detailed deliberations, the following decisions were reached:
- Only authorised checkpoints will be allowed to operate along National Highway-2, while all illegal checkpoints will be dismantled with immediate effect.
- A time-bound inquiry into the Saparmeina incident will be conducted by a senior district police officer. Departmental action will be taken against those found guilty within seven days, and the outcome will be communicated to the associations.
Following the assurance given by Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi, Manoj Prabhakar N.I., the steering down agitation launched by the truckers’ associations was suspended.
