Senapati: Irked by the ignorance and withholding the rights of democratic citizens despite repeated pleas to the central government and state government, for having failed to respect the office ultimatum and uphold the assurance given by the chief minister of Manipur pertaining to blanket banning of the internet in the state, the office of the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM), as announced in both print and electronic media on October 17, 2023 resorted to agitations today.
The association launched picketing of all government offices in Senapati district as their first step of agitation demanding to immediately lift the order of internet shutdown and restore internet connectivity in peaceful areas of the state and to declare the result of the interview held in the month of September, 2021 for the appointment of 190 Posts of Assistant Professors (145+ 45 ST Special Drive) for government colleges of Manipur at the earliest.
The association also warned to intensify the agitation if the legitimate demands are not fulfilled at the earliest. Briefing the media, Yunuo Peter, president, Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) stated that the office of SDSA fully endorses the office picketing of all govt offices in Naga hill districts called by the ANSAM.
The SDSA President then mentioned that the SDSA & its constituent units had also picketed all govt offices in Senapati.
