Senapati: Reiterating their stand before their demands are made, the Senapati District Truck Owners Association and Senapati District Truck Drivers Union has stated that they would continue with steering down.
Ferrying of essential commodities to the state capital Imphal had been halted after some drivers and associates were assaulted on February 16 night by unknown armed miscreants at Sekmai.

The Truck association and union demands immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the February 16 incident and that it said it will not ply along the route until the rampant mushrooming of illegal tax collections from Kangpokpi to Imphal stretch were completely stopped. The two bodies also appealed the Manipur Sand Union to stop collection of money from the vehicles.

Executive members of the association and union asserts that drivers and associates does not feel safe without the demands being met. They have expressed that many drivers and associates have experienced disturbances in the route, to the extent of life threats in the past.
More than 100 goods ladened trucks carrying essential commodities is being halted in between Mao to Senapati as of Tuesday.
