Seven new COVID-19 cases reported in Meghalaya

Meghalaya has recorded 7 new COVID-19 cases and 7 recoveries on Wednesday.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said the new cases included 6 in East Khasi Hills district and 1 in West Garo Hills district.

He informed that all the 7 patients who recovered from the viral infection are from East Khasi Hills district.

So far, the state has detected a total of 13,717 COVID-19 cases out of which 133 are active cases, 13,440 recovered and 144 deaths.

East Khasi Hills has 100 active cases, East Jaintia Hills 14, West Jaintia Hills 9, Ri Bhoi 3, North Garo Hills 3 and West Khasi Hills 2.

On the other hand, of the 3,21,819 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,08,102 were tested negative for the virus even as 61 persons are in institutional quarantine and 71 under home quarantine.

There are 84,701 entrants from outside the state.
