Shillong Lajong FC edge out AIM comfortably to reach Shirui Lily Cup 2021 finals

Ukhrul: The first semi final match of the 29th Shirui Lily Cup 2021, National Level Football tournament was played today between Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM) from Imphal and Shillong Lajong FC from Meghalaya.

The young Lajong FC under-18 players proved to be fierce and faster as they made good attempts before Tremiki (Jersey 6) scored their first goal at 27 minutes.

At 30 minutes, Gladdy N (Jersey 8), arguably one of the best mid-fielders in the tournament, scored Lajong FC’s 2nd goal in a penalty.

Another goal was scored by Abhay (Jersey 17) at 35 minutes that sealed the match when Lajong FC was given a free kick after a rough tackle against Lajong FC’s Unis.

AIM scored their only goal at 40 Minutes by Lungoulen (Jersey 10).

At second half, 69 minute, Tremiki scored Lajong FC’s 4th goal, all the way in finishing with the 5th and final goal scored by Gladdy N at 74 minutes.

The match ended 5-1 as Shillong Lajong FC moves up to finals to go head to head against the winner of TRAU FC and KLASA FC in tomorrow’s semi-finals.
