Tribal Officer Shimreishang Kengoo Promoted to Commandant

Ukhrul, April 1: In a remarkable achievement for the Tangkhul community and the tribals, Second-in-Command (GD) in the Cerepol Shimreishang Kengoo has been promoted to Commandant.

A promotion order issued by the Cerepol includes Shimreishang Kengoo, Hijam Padmeshwar Singh, Swaroop Jangir, and Deepak Mehra, all of whom have been elevated to Commandant. The promotion is contingent upon certain conditions: they must be free from any vigilance issues, have no pending disciplinary or criminal cases, not be under any punishment involving the withholding of increments, and possess a valid SHAPE-ONE medical category in accordance with SO-04/2008. Additionally, they will have one month to exercise their options for pay fixation as per the rules, if needed.

Furthermore, the promotion is subject to additional orders which may be issued by the Supreme Court of India in Special Leave to Appeal (C) No. 30621/2011, arising from the final judgment and order dated 15/07/2011 in CWP No. 13218/2009 passed by the High Court of Punjab & Haryana, as well as in Special Leave to Appeal (C) No. 31288/2017 arising from the Delhi High Court judgement dated 23/08/2017, along with other related court cases and subsequent orders issued by the DOP&T/GOI.

Cerepol, while extending heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the officers on their promotion, has authorized them to assume their duties as Commandant (GD) at their current postings. Specific details regarding their postings in the Commandant (GD) rank will be provided shortly.
