As part of the sampling study, six villages each have been identified for sampling under Ukhrul Rural Hotspot (URH) and Ukhrul Rural Non-Hotspot (URNH) respectively.

Shokvao village along with five other villages of the district including Ramva, Shangshak, Choithar, Pharung and Phalee are classified under URNH , while six other villages namely, Langdang, Shirui, Halang, Lunghar, Talui and Paorei will be covered under URH. The state wide sero surveillance which commenced in the district on November 30, is being carried out as per the state government’s directive. The state government is targeting to collect 920 samples from each of the state’s four districts namely, Ukhrul, Imphal West, Kakching and Churachandpur during the ongoing community surveillance study.

The exercise is primarily an anti-bodies detection test which is globally used to assess the prevalence of infection at the community level.

Meanwhile, the district administration has also requested all the concerned localities and villages to extend full cooperation to the medical team to ensure successful conduct of the survey.
