Shops in Tamenglong remained open today on Sunday. This Christmas, unlike other years, despite the hardship faced due to the worldwide pandemic, people have started to throng the streets and markets in Tamenglong town.

Speaking to a local on how different this year’s Christmas celebrations will be, “Christmas season has brought back delight and joy in the heart of people. Despite the difficult year it’s been, the spirit of Christmas has finally begun to ignite in the heart of Tamenglong people”, the local said with optimism.

Tamenglong district have seen gradual decline in the number of COVID-19 cases and people have started to pour into streets and markets to prepare for Christmas.

In order to make up for the number of lost business hours because of COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions for business, shops in Tamenglong remained open on Sunday. However there was no such notice from the district administration.
