Sirti Upa Ruh, UCP perform Monsang Naga Customary Law

CHANDEL, NOV 19: Following the negotiation and agreement reached between the Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union) and United Committee, Pallel (UCP) under Monsang Naga Customary Law, a Monsang Naga Customary Prayer Programme was held on Tuesday at the Ng. Mono Monsang Memorial Hall, Japhou in Chandel district.

This follows the negotiation and agreement reached between Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union) and United Committee, Pallel (UCP) related to the October 30, 2025 incident wherein leaders of the Monsang Naga Student Union leaders were physically assaulted by some individuals.

During the event, Ng. Benithan, President, SUR and Moirangthem Jiban, Convenor, UCP spoke on creating peace and understanding between the two communities. They emphasized on building a strong and lasting relationship between the two sides.

As a token of love and good friendship on this auspicious occasion, SUR President also presented Muffler to UCP Convenor, Chairman and Secretary, Meira Paibi, Pallel.

Representing the United Naga Council (UNC), Wangno Kohring Victor, Speaker, UNC spoke on building a peaceful relationship between communities, especially in this hard times. He said, peace was the only way to move forward.

CNPO President and colleagues and all the Tribe Presidents under CNPO attended the Programme.

Upa Rev. K Kumar , Pastor, Japhou Baptist Church prayed for blessings for STS Leaders who were victims and also for all those 9 individuals who attacked them.

SUR expressed their gratitude to CNPO President and colleagues and to all the Tribe Presidents under CNPO for attending the Programme. SUR also thanked all the Leaders of United Committee, Pallel (UCP) for attending this Monsang Customary Prayer Programme and making it a success.
