Chandel, July 19: In its initiative to promote 100% participation and showcase the hidden talents of students while creating awareness about science, technology, and diverse cultures, St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School in Liwachangning, Chandel organized a Science cum Cultural Exhibition on Saturday at its premises.
The event was graced by Hrangbung Starson Anal, ZEO Chandel, as the Chief Guest, and Langhu Mojesh, AI-ZEO, Chandel, as the Guest of Honor. Rev. Fr. Bonio Frederick, Principal of St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Sangaiprou, Imphal, joined as the Special Guest.

The program commenced with an invocation prayer led by Rev. Fr. Anthony Sen, Vice-Principal of St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Monsang Pantha. This was followed by a performance by the Believers orchestra, comprising students of St. Paul’s Boarding. Rev. Fr. Benjamin Kodai Kaje, Principal of St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests. He stated that the purpose of the Science cum Cultural Exhibition was to translate knowledge into practical action, encouraging students to utilize their knowledge to solve societal challenges. He emphasized the importance of students being rooted in their culture and traditions while advancing in science and technology.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, ZEO Chandel praised the school administration for organizing the event and highlighted the significance of equipping students with knowledge of advancing science and technologies. This would facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas, enhance creativity skills, and shape their future. He stressed the need to amalgamate science and culture in the modern world, incorporating traditional knowledge into the modern generation. He commended the students’ display of unity and harmony through their cultural performances, showcasing peace and coexistence in Chandel despite ongoing conflicts in Manipur. He encouraged teachers and parents for their dedication in guiding the students.

The cultural exhibition featured dazzling performances, including adorable choreography from LKG & UKG, duet music, vibrant displays of Bamboo dance, Manipuri and Burmese Dance, Cultural Fusion, and an Attire show. The event also included a special appearance by music icon Wilson Rangang. Later, students from all classes showcased their innovative creations in the scientific exhibition, which was set for competition and inspected by dignitaries and judges.
The ceremony concluded with words of thanks from Headmistress Rev. Sr. Maria Goretti Langhu, who expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the exhibition’s success. She stated that the event would spark curiosity and a love for learning, testifying to the power of collaboration, creativity, and the pursuit of knowledge. The event was attended by teachers, parents, chiefs of neighboring villages, and distinguished invitees.
