State level officials grants permission to Open TK Woodand Hospital in Ukhrul

In what is a positive development for Ukhrul district populace, State level officials led by Dr H. Babychand Devi, additional director (PF) Medical Directorate inspected TK Woodland Hospital in Ukhrul district Tuesday have given permission to start functioning of the COVID Hospital.

TK Woodland hospital is situated at the picturesque mount Kashong range and Phangrei.

Confirming the green signal given by the visiting state level officials, Medical superintendent of district hospital Ukhrul, Dr Reisangmi Raikhan informed Ukhrul Times late Tuesday that walk in for patients will start at TK Woodland Hospital soon.

Dr Raikhan said man power requirements for same have been discussed on Tuesday and soon an order to this effect will be out. Also adding that services will start small initially, and depending on the requirements, add and expand accordingly.

On the prevailing Covid situation, Ukhrul detected six new COVID-19 positive today while 10 patients were discharged taking the total active caseload to 106.

According to DSO Ukhrul, cumulative positive cases reached 1019 with 586 males and 433 females. While cumulative fatalities rate remained at 28.

Out of 106 active caseload in the district, 40 are at district hospital isolation ward, 42 at transit CCC, and 24 at Ukhrul higher secondary school CHIC.

Ukhrul reported 16 new Covid positive case on Monday.
