CHANDEL: The Sirti Thiimjiitan Sourkhe (STS) – Monsang Naga Students’ Union – successfully organised its 57th General Conference at Liwa Khullen village in Chandel district, Manipur from January 8-11. The general conference was organised under the theme, “Thrive Through Challenges”.
In the process, W Sanchuila of Monsang Pantha village, Chandel district was crowned Miss Monsang 2026 beating 16 other competitors.
The four-day event saw a series of cultural and literary events such as solo competition, Sirti’s Got Talent, debate, sports activities etc.

The 57th STS General Conference began on Thursday with the hoisting of the flag by Ng Vincent, former president, STS while the hall was dedicated by Th Vincent Warnong, Local Catechist, St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Liwa Khullen.
During the welcome and introductory session held on January 8, Th Tommy Monsang, Income Tax Officer, IT Dept, Ministry of Finance, GoI graced the event as chief guest. However, the inaugural session of the conference on Friday was attended by TN Mannen, IAS (Retd.), MLA and Advisor, Law & Justice, Land Revenue, Nagaland who also unveiled the conference monolith. The monolith was then blessed by Rev. Dr Ng Molarhring Monsang, Director, Peace and Development, MBC. Dr Th. Joyson, CMO, District Hospital, Chandel, graced the Literary Session in the evening as chief guest.
The cultural session on Saturday was graced by Losii Dikho, MLA, 48 Mao while Most Rev. Dominic Lumon Monsang, Emeritus, Archbishop of Imphal gave the exhortation. The Valedictory Session was graced by Ss Olish, MLA 41-Chandel (ST) AC as the chief guest.

The conference also featured an interaction session on Saturday evening on the topic, “Empowerment Through Education and Legal Literacy” with W Somie Monsang, chief, Ethar Erur as the host.
One of the major attractions of the conference was the Miss Monsang Contest, 2026. In an event that ended at 3:00 AM on Sunday, W Sanchuila of Monsang Pantha village, Chandel district was crowned Miss Monsang 2026 beating 16 other competitors. Ng Clearisha was declared the 1st Runner Up while the 2nd Runner Up title went to TS Luciana.
As for the subtitles of the contest, Miss Beautiful Smile went to Ts Luciana, Miss Beautiful Hair to Ng Christini, Miss Talented W Clare and Miss Beautiful Walk to Kh Lemshaning.
The night also saw high voltage performances from renowned Manipuri singer Sori Senjam, Tangkhul singer Thangmeiso Shinglai and Maring singer Kohensome Dangsha among others.
The conference came to a close on Sunday morning with the de-hoisting of the flag by Gedion Kiirii, president, STS.
