Chandel: Education & Legal Literacy Interaction Session Held During 57th STS General Conference

CHANDEL: The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) in collaboration with Sirti Thiimjiitam Sourkhe/Monsang Naga Students’ Union (STS) and Ethar Erur (EE) conducted an interaction session on the topic “Empowerment Through Education and Legal Literacy’ during the historic occasion of the 57th STS General Conference held at Liwa Khullen (Meeleen) village, Chandel on Saturday. 

The interaction session was intended for the Monsang student community to have better knowledge and awareness in the field of education and legal literacy. The importance of quality education, higher studies, cracking competitive examinations, women issues, understanding legal rights, were some of the areas the session deliberated.

The panelists for the interaction session were Th Tiningpham Monsang, chairperson Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW),  Th. Tommy Monsang, Income Tax Officer, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Sh Wilson Monsang, Food Safety Officer, Chandel, Kiirii Onand Monsang, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Dhanamanjuri University, and Kh Jacky, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel District Judge Court Chandel. 

The session was hosted by W Somie Monsang, Assistant Professor, Department of History, GP Women’s College, Dhanamanjuri University. A large number of students and parents attended the insightful session.
