Deliberating on the Indo-Naga political talks for political solution, a consultative meeting was organized by the National Socialist Women Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) Sumi region at Hotel Saramati on Tuesday.

The consultative meeting saw Ino Hutovi Chishi Swu, Convener, steering committee NSCN and Ino Kihoi Swu, Convener, Ceasefire Monitoring Cell as guest speakers. Deliberating on the current situation resolutions were adopted, NSWON said.

According to NSWON, the first resolution it adopted is the full endorsement of the August 3rd, 2015 Framework Agreement signed between the government of India NSCN IM representing the Naga people whereby the sovereign rights of the Nagas were recognized.

Secondly the recognition of the Unique History of the Nagas, the acknowledgement of the universal principle of democracy that sovereignty lies with the people, the shared sovereignty and peaceful co-existence of the two entities, unequivocally states the components of the Naga Flag and Constitution as an integral part of solution.

And thirdly, NSWON reminded that in the course of the Indo-Naga conflict of several decades, more than 3,50,000 Nagas laid down their lives for the sacred cause, the untold suffering and humiliation in the hands of alien aggression on our land and people resulting in hundreds and thousands of widows and orphans, adding that Sumi community was not an exception, it said.

It then concluded with remarks that some groups are getting ready for a “financial packaged deal within the Indian constitution in exchange of the Nagas historical and political rights”, saying it is “extremely unfortunate”. NSWON condemning such groups and individuals said it “reaffirmed to commit and stand for the Naga National Rights to the end”.
