Tamenglong & Noney HQs celebrates 74th Independence Day: Students Awarded

UT Bureau | Tamenglong, Aug 15: Tamenglong district today celebrated the 74th Independence Day at Haipou Jadonang Memorial Park. Armstrong Pame, Deputy Commissioner, Tamenglong graced the event as the Chief Guest and hoisted the national flag. Certificate of appreciation was especially given to name of Schools for opening their institution for community quarantine. Awards and momentos were also distributed to the government employees.

Tamenglong District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) PHED organized online Painting competition for class- 9-12 and Essay competition for class-6-8 students for which the prize was distributed. The objective of this competition is to create awareness and involvement among the students, said an official.

The winners were awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1000, Rs. 2000, and Rs. 3000 respectively.

While in Noney District Headquarters, Independence Day was observed at Deputy Commissioner’s office complex. H. Worshang DC of Noney hoisted the national flag. The SP of Noney Shri Ningshen Vashum gave the guard of Honour. Awards and momentos were also distributed to the government employees.
