Tamenglong to host Lui-Ngai-Ni festival on Feb 15: Marathon for Men and Women

Lui-Ngai-Ni, a seed sowing festival of the Nagas tribes of Manipur, will be held this year at Indoor Stadium, Tamenglong on February 15.

The celebration will be organised by Joint Tribe Council (Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei, Inpui), and Awangbow Newmai, Forest, Environment, Sericulture & Climate Change Minister, will be the Chief Guest, Namsinrei Panmei, Chairman ADC Tamenglong and Armstrong Pame IAS, DC Tamenglong as Guest of Honour and Chief Host respectively.

The main feature of the celebration will be displaying of cultural dances by different cultural troupes, displaying traditional way of igniting fire, traditional orchestra and many other traditional items.

Lui-Ngai-Ni marathon will be held for both men and women. Prices will be decided according to each category and winner of the race will be rewarded with Rs 5000 in cash, 1st runner up with Rs 3000 and 2nd runner up to be awarded with Rs 2000.
