UKHRUL: Presidents of Tangkhul Katamnao Longs and Chairpersons of Tangkhul Welfare Societies from various cities have appealed to the President of Tangkhul Naga Long, Ukhrul to cancel or postpone Lui Ngai Ni 2026 scheduled for 14-15th of February at Ukhrul Headquarters.

Having unanimously cancelled or postponed Luira Phanit celebrations for 2026 in various cities following the “burning of several houses in Litan on the night of February 8 and the continuing displacement of families seeking safety, shelter and support we write with deep concern and solidarity for those affected,” the appeal stated.

Lui-Ngai-Ni is a sacred annual festival of the Nagas symbolizing unity and shared joy. “We place our trust in your leadership and humbly request your earnest consideration in standing with our people during this period of grief and uncertainty, ” the appeal added.
