UKHRUL, Sep 11: The Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) has expressed solidarity with the Naga community in its demand for justice over the May 13, 2026 killings, while also reiterating its call for justice for three Thadou Christian leaders killed in a separate attack on the same day.
TIM on Thursday said three senior leaders of the Thadou Baptist Association India (TBAI)—president Rev. Dr. Vumthang Sitlhou, Rev. Kaigoulun Lhouvum and pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou—were killed after two vehicles carrying Thadou Christian leaders were ambushed on May 13. Five other TBAI workers were also injured, it said.
TIM said six Naga civilians, including a church pastor, were abducted and killed on the same day, with their bodies later recovered in mutilated condition.
It said the Naga community’s demand for justice was legitimate and should be pursued alongside the Thadou community’s demand for justice for the three slain TBAI leaders.

“False implications will not deliver justice; they will only deepen injustice,” TIM said, calling for the actual perpetrators of the May 13 attacks to be identified and prosecuted without further delay.
TIM cited the United Naga Council (UNC) as having held cadres of the Kuki National Front–P (KNF-P) responsible for the killings. The organisation alleged that the attacks were linked to armed Kuki militant groups and called for decisive action by the Government of India and the Government of Manipur.
TIM also endorsed the UNC’s demand for the abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) arrangement with the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) and United People’s Front (UPF).
The Thadou Inpi further called for the resignation and removal of Manipur deputy chief minister Nemcha Kipgen and prosecution of S.T. Thangboi and Jangboi Kipgen over allegations concerning the May 13 attacks.

The Thadou Inpi said the Thadou community stood with the UNC and the Naga community in seeking justice for the May 13 attacks and urged people across Manipur to unite in demanding accountability.
“Justice delayed is justice denied. Impunity must end,” TIM said.
