The 7th Monsang Day of Prayer held

CHANDEL, NOV 11: The 7th Sirti Thamna Enii (Monsang Day of Prayer 2025) under the theme “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” was held on Tuesday at Changnhe Village Community Hall, Chandel.

During the event, the two Blessing Ministers namely, Upa Th. Vincent Warnong, Catechist, St. Dominic Catholic Church, Liwa Khullen and Upa Rev. Sh. Shrimon Monsang, Vice President, Chandel Naga Christian Forum (CNCF) shared the word of God and led the Prayers for God’s Blessings for the Monsang Naga Community.

Welcoming the congregation and giving the key-note address, Upa Ng. Benithan, President, Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union) said the Sirti Thamna Enii, which means the Prayer Day for Monsang Naga Tribe, has been observed every year on 29th October since 2019. It is the day that GoI recognised the Monsang Tribe as Scheduled Tribe of India on 29th October, 1956, he said.

The programme was moderated by Upa Sh. Micky Victor, General Secretary, SUR. After words of prayer by Upa W. Molali, Evengelist, CBC, the Programme started with singing in praise of God.

Liwachangning Women Fellowship, Japhou Women Fellowship, Liwa Sarei Women Fellowship, Liwa Khullen Women, Monsang Pantha Women and host Village, Changnhe Women Fellowship also presented special items on the occasion.

During the programme, offering prayer was done by Sanuw Ts. Changninglei, Pastor, Japhou Bazar Monsang Baptist Church. After vote of thanks was given by Upa K. Hringam, Deputy Speaker, SUR, the 7th Sirti Thamna Enii (Monsang Day of Prayer 2025) was closed with prayer by K. Bosom, Pastor, Liwachangning Baptist Church.

It may be mentioned that the 7th Sirti Thamna Enii was initially planned for October 29, however, owing to the civic reception of Ato Kilonser, GPRN on October 29, the prayer day was moved to November 11.
