Inaugration ceremony of The Tangkhul Express office was held on Friday, September 10 at 12 noon at Phungreitang west.
The Tangkhul Express is an digital media currently providing daily Tangkhul news on their YouTube channel. The ceremony was attended by Dr Dhabali Thangjam, Chairman and Managing Director, Babina Group of companies as chief guest, Ashang Kasar, Social Activist and TTE Advisor as guest of honor, Micheal Shaiza, BJP Leader, President ERA, and Sothing Kashung Manager, MSPDCL, Ukhrul as special guest, Tangkhul Leihsak Long President, Peacemoon Zimik, and Rev. Somi Kasomwoshi blessed the ceremony.
“I am sure The Tangkhul Express has come out and come about with positive intention for our society, which actually is starving from want of media”, said Michael Shaiza.
He also mentioned that we have only one local news paper, The Aja daily, and 20 mins Tangkhul program in AIR, Manipur, so, it is a great relieve now that TTE has come up. He hopes that TTE will grow into a medium, a platform to showcase Tangkhul arts and culture, for education, sports, health, entertainment and business.
Dr Dhabali Tangjam emphasized on the importance of electronic media and how we can get any information instantly in the inaugural address. The chief guest elucidated on the important responsibility in the society media plays. He also noted that print media will die a natural death in the course of time with the coming of electronic/digital media, emphasising that the new medium is becoming more and more powerful even than the print media. He opined that digital media should fully exploit the benefit of media.
Dr Dhabali Thangjam concluded his speech wishing TTE to grow in leaps and bounds and all the success it will achieve in the coming years.
